Do Masks Even Work? Can You Be Forced To Wear One? Dr. Kaufman Weighs In

We are beginning to see more and more mask mandates being rolled out, which raises many questions. Does wearing a mask offer protection from the virus? Is wearing a mask for extended periods of time pose any risk to your health? Can the government or employers really make you wear a mask?

In this interview, Spiro is joined by Dr. Andrew Kaufman to discuss these issue in addition to another concerning aspect regarding mandated masks.

Are we being conditioned to accept other mandates? If they can make you wear a mask, what will they make you do next? Mandatory testing? Mandatory vaccination? Do not miss this important interview!

  1. Interesting video. Masks (not respirators) don’t protect you from catching airborne virus infection, simply because they are not sealed. But they do protect differently. If worn by the public at large, they prevent large droplets of bodily fluids that may contain viruses or other germs from escaping via the nose and mouth. So surfaces around you will have fewer chances to get infected and that way people touching these surfaces have fewer chances to get infected if they touch their nose or eyes… They also protect against splashes and sprays from other people, such as those from sneezes and coughs.
So what is said in this video isn’t completely true because they are only talking of the effectiveness of a mask to protect you from airborne particles, virus. In this video it is also said that wearing a mask is risky as the oxygen level in the blood would drop dangerously, according to scientific studies. But what studies? I would be interested to have a look at them, but they are not mentioned. It is entirely false and there are no such studies. I am curious of your views because here in France we can find the same debates and nobody is wearing a mask anymore here…
Also, one can be contagious and asymptomatic, so wearing a mask can reduce the spread of infections from asymptomatic (but contagious) people.
To resume, the main goal of wearing a mask is not to protect you from catching the virus (although it can, e.g. if you touch a contaminated surface then touch your mask instead of touching your mouth or nose), but to protect others from your coughs or sneezes.

However, wearing a mask may be inconvenient. It can give people a false sentiment of security and then people will not respect/forget hand hygiene or physical distances. People will touch their face/mask more often because the mask will annoy them, which then increases the risk to catch the virus…

    1. hello France :)

      > [masks] prevent large droplets of bodily fluids that may contain viruses or other germs from escaping via the nose and mouth.

not true – the droplets that can get caught in a mask, and not all do, can then be dislodged by a cough or sneeze – then there is also the question of what happens to the virus cells once the droplets they are attached to dries – and further contamination can take place if the mask is reused, which many people seem to be doing

there are also several studies which indicate that masks are either largely or entirely useless – you’ll find all this information, and much more, here: Coronavirus (COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2) news and resources, updated daily

      > They also protect against splashes and sprays from other people, such as those from sneezes and coughs.

again the above applies, however even in an ideal situation (the mask is handled properly, not reused, disregarding dry droplets, etc.) masks don’t protect the eyes which are another avenue for infection

      > In this video it is also said that wearing a mask is risky as the oxygen level in the blood would drop dangerously, according to scientific studies.

that masks deplete oxygen is common sense – a mask holds a given volume of air, so when you exhale CO2, that CO2 fills that cavity – then you inhale and re-breath the CO2 along with some fresh air – granted the volume is small, but if you pay attention to your breathing when you are at rest, such as driving a car, you’ll find that your respiration is very shallow and slow, so it doesn’t take a lot of CO2 to have an impact – furthermore, there are plenty of reports, including from people i’ve talked to personally, that complain about fatigue and shortness of breath while wearing a mask and this is also the case for me personally and the effect is *very* noticeable – i’ve also read a report of a woman wearing a mask while driving who passed out as a result

      > Also, one can be contagious and asymptomatic, so wearing a mask can reduce the spread of infections from asymptomatic (but contagious) people.

“It still appears to be rare that an symptomatic individual transmits onward” — Dr. Kerkhove, WHO, Jun-2020

data straight from both the CDC and WHO largely contradicts this – you’ll find this in the link i provided earlier

lastly, the most recent data from the CDC and elsewhere indicate that COVID-19 is hardly more dangerous than the common flu (mortality = 0.26%) and *we now know for a fact* that the number of deaths has been, and is being, inflated in several ways…

      * people being put on vents are highly unlikely to live and they are still being used in NY (probably elsewhere also) while treatments using with oxygen, hydroxychloroquine and zinc, or vitamins C and D, are having tremendous success
      * some people that test positive are being tested twice and both positive results are being counted as separate statistics (the CDC admitted this)
      * some/many people that clearly die of non-COVID causes (stroke, heart attack, falling down stairs, etc., etc), but test positive for COVID, are being listed as COVID deaths – this is perhaps especially true in long-term care facilities where the power of the doctor to determine the cause of death has been transferred to the coroner who then tests first for COVID before anything else and, upon a positive result, no further investigation is performed
      * some people that have never been tested, but are *suspected* to be COVID positive, are being counted as COVID
      * people testing negative are being put on the same floors, and even the same rooms, with COVID positive patients and then getting the virus – this is happening in NY right now

so now we revisit the CDC 0.26 mortality rate and find that it’s utterly useless

there are several more reasons why the numbers are a complete joke and again you’ll find more info in the link

everything i am seeing and reading from front-line healthcare professionals, including several i know personally, as well as from studies, researchers, my own interviews, etc. has made it crystal clear to me that the virus is not now, nor ever was the problem – there is indeed a bigger picture and it is far darker than this rather trivial virus
